Biography: 

Walter farms with his father and keeps a diary like his parents, Clara and Joseph, had. In ten little black books, he makes brief entries about his farm work and the help he gives to others in threshing, chopping wood and filling silos. In 1848 he buys a combine. Join him as he figures out how to use it and then begins combining for others. While threshing in the 1950s, he inhaled particles of straw and eventually died from the complications.
