Alice Corless Treffry

Each day Alice writes a full page about everyone’s activities but doesn’t mention too much about herself.  Perhaps this is out of modesty or because she is sixty-eight and can rely on grown children to do the work.   She seems to refer to her husband, Charles, as “Pa”.  They both help others a lot in their community of Quaker friends and relatives.  You can read of Alice’s activities when she is age thirty-five by reading her husband’s 1867 diary. Norwich and District Archives have her son George’s 1877 diary.
