Andrew McFarland Learn

When the diary begins, Andrew is farming 100 acres with his only son, Randall. Randall soon takes up harness making and finds a place of his own nearby, marrying Ann Legg in June 1875. He continues to help his father until Andrew and Sarah retire and move into Aylmer. The diary ends when Andrew no longer needs to keep track of wood cut, raspberries planted, livestock bred, fences mended, and deals cut with neighbours.
