Deciphering Benjamin’s writing is a challenge, but worth it. He lives next door to the Mennonite Meeting House and is fully ensconced in the lives of his large family and Mennonite community. He writes of men threshing and butchering and women quilting. You will find it useful to know that abbreviations J and F refer to his sons John and Flavius, and BrS/SBr, BrN/NBr, and BrC/CBr refer to his brothers Simeon, Noah and Christian.
