Biography:

Cecil writes about farming, his chores, livestock, maple syrup production, and hunting, The diary captures his life between periods of local political activity. He serves as Reeve of the Township of Amabel from 1901-1902 and is a member of the Amabel Township Council from 1912-1914. He keeps cash accounts at the back of his diary, which are a useful compliment to his diary entries.
