Eliza Bellamy

Eliza came from a privileged background and becomes the wife of a relatively well-to-do mill-owner/farmer in North Augusta. Both were previously married and they combine their families. They have the first one-and-a-half-storey stone house in the area and have hired help. When we meet Eliza in 1854, she is busy sewing, running the household and attending to her grown children’s needs. She reveals a lot about being a middle-aged woman with children starting out on their own, religion and daily life, visiting, and the mother/daughter relationship.
