James Wilson

In 1841 James arrives in the Port Hope area from England with his parents and five brothers, two of whom die in 1842.  By 1861 James is living in his own separate house and farming with his father and married brother Joseph who lives on the same lot.  His other brother Edmund is farming down the road.  Once on his own, he starts keeping a diary.  He remains single and for several years Ann Maize keeps house for him.  He maintained a diary until the year he died.
