Katherine Edith Hartman Snider

The Sniders have been settled in the Odessa area since 1834, the Hartman’s since the 1850s, and by 1902 descendants of the two families own many farms in the surrounding area. Katie writes in her diary sporadically and captures their frequent visiting. Prior to marriage she had been a seamstress and now she is sewing for her extended family and assisting her widowed mother-in-law with housework and cooking. Her husband is working in a blacksmith shop, for a fencing company, and running the farm.
