Robert Hume

Robert is a tiresome worker who values hard labour. His high standard for quality work, however, leads to struggles in finding competent hired hands to assist with the family farm. Despite his frustration with business, Robert appreciates being in Canada where “corn crops are always good.” He is also an active member of his community, serving as an annual judge for the Provincial Agricultural Society. His diaries reveal the musings of a thoughtful, albeit highly opinionated, farmer.
