Sarah Hallen Drinkwater

Sarah begins her diary when she marries a military man and gentleman, and they begin their married life near Penetang, a fur-trading settlement. She is comparatively well-to-do and proud of it; at one point she lists all the contents of her house.  She writes of domestic matters, the Indigenous peoples and soldiers in the area, social events, her children and her parents.  Her diaries are part of a larger diary-writing family collection.
