William Beattie

Except for his 1866/67 diary, William writes in beautiful little pocket diaries, one for nearly every year thereafter until 1909.  As the years go by his entries become less neat.  He rarely writes about family, friends or neighbours.  His entries are about his farm work at his “Castle Farm”, things bought and sold, and trips to Guelph and Fergus.  His son William works with him and eventually takes over managing the farm.
