William Fitzgerald

William, a bachelor, leaves cheesemaking in Camden East to manage the Rose Hill Cheese Factory in the village of Rosehill, Pittsburgh Township.  While there, he acquires a good reputation for his quality cheese and management of the factory and makes many social connections. Cheesemaking is subject to conflicts between farmers and buyer-exporters, declining prices, and job insecurity.  By 1904, when he marries, he is a cheesemaker on Wolfe Iisland, and later in Loughboro Township and Harrowsmith, in Portland Township.
