William John “Willy” Little

Willy’s diary is a horticultural and agricultural historian’s treasure. He provides plant names, quantities, acres, rows, and activities from seeding to harvest. He buys fifty climax strawberry plants, sprays trees, scuffles mangels, and stacks oats.  Such detail is interspersed with church and family life. In 1921, he goes to hear the best-selling novelist “Ralph Connor” speak.  He keeps accounts at the back.  On many occasions, he doesn’t write. Blank pages were not digitized.
